Rather than participate in the day-to-day operations of a company, we create value by holding at least one seat on the Board of Directors and by offering strategic, operational and financial resources.

SONG adds value to each investment through:

1. Strategic Planning

In addition to the operational strengths of the SONG Advisory Team, we are aligned with leading educational institutions (such as the Indian School of Business), senior industry advisors and leading intellectuals and business people-both within India and globally-that will help develop and implement strategic plans for our portfolio companies.

2. Identifying Management Needs

SONG seeks companies with great management teams in place. If it is determined that the growth of the company requires additional management expertise, we will take an active role in identifying and recruiting additional team members, as well as help develop retention and alignment strategies.

3. Fostering Growth

SONG believes that long-term equity value can be created through a variety of strategic initiatives, including brand building, new product development, strategic alliances and entry into new channels of distribution, among others. Therefore, we partner with each management team to establish and implement clear operating plans tied to the overall strategic plans in order to maximize long-term equity value.

4. Enhancing Operational Performance

We work closely with each company’s management team to ensure that the appropriate infrastructure and controls are in place to support the growth plans of the company. We provide assistance in improving systems, improving operating efficiencies, implementing financial controls, budgeting and supporting the evaluation of capital expenditure decisions. Our professionals have extensive operating and financial experience to draw on for this purpose.
