Jim Bunch

Jim Bunch manages investments that expand economic opportunity through access to capital. In his work, he addresses capital and infrastructure constraints in the areas of Microfinance, Small-to-Medium Enterprise (SME), and Emerging Market Ventures. Jim oversees a number of investments, such as Balkan Financial Sector Equity Fund, IGNIA and SONG Growth Company, among others.

He serves as an investment committee member for Unitus Equity Fund and a board observer for Prosper.

Prior to joining Omidyar Network, Jim was the CFO of MTI Micro Fuel Cells Inc., which commercializes direct methanol fuel cells for handheld electronics. Previously, Jim spent five years as an equity research analyst in the energy sector, covering international integrated and Russian oil companies for Goldman Sachs in New York and London. He also served as the Vice President of Investment Research for Renaissance Capital, a Russian investment bank.

Jim holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in international relations from Stanford University.
