About Us

The SONG Mission and Vision
Our mission is to help build great businesses that create value for all stakeholders. Our vision is to use our platform to catalyze socio-economic development, so that the benefits of economic growth reach the masses in the emerging markets. We believe that emerging markets have unique problems that cannot be solved by mere replication of current developed economy business models without significant local innovation. We plan to partner with likeminded entrepreneurs and help them realize their dreams by providing them with right capital, strategic insights and synergistic ecosystems.
Our Values
At SONG, our goal is to represent what we consider to be the “best in class, ” from our investment team to our advisors to the products and services that are brought into the marketplace.
“We build trust and transparency around
our results.”
People
Our associates and partners are our #1 resource. We treat people how we would like to be treated; we work with people who have drive and curiosity, and who are ethical.
Investments
Our focus is not to build a business that needs to be “sold” to provide returns, but to build a business that others want to buy. We view ourselves as partners, not financiers; we work on building great businesses, not getting “deals” done. We are intensely focused on execution and related metrics.
Transparency
We have no hidden agendas. We align our interests with the management team of our portfolio companies to help create the drive and curiosity that will take portfolio company to the next level. We build trust and transparency around our results.
Quality
We support products and services that are “best in class,” and seek partners with the same orientation. Our ideal scenario is to invest in companies and people with great track records and with an eagerness to build a sustainable organization.
Change
We are on the front lines of investing in the SME space in emerging markets. We must embrace, adapt and be willing to change rapidly as we learn from the ground realities. If we become followers in our thinking, our chance to lead diminishes.
